Shizuoka Distillery advocates a whisky-making approach that embodies the essence of Shizuoka and Japan, creating new value in Japanese whisky. In 2015, they coined the term "craft whisky," sparking a major craft wave in the industry while simultaneously introducing the entirely new concept of "100% Japanese Barley Whisky." The resulting single malt won Gold at the World Whiskies Awards for two consecutive years in 2024 and 2025.

Nurtured by Japan's climate and natural environment, malt made from Japanese barley yields an incredibly delicate, gentle, and sweet aroma and flavor. It offers an approachable yet complex taste, born from the fusion of unblended whiskies produced by two distinct stills: the world-rare, wood-fired direct distillation still "W" and the legendary still "K".
